Mary Jane (Blackford) Workman, 67

Mary Jane (Blackford) Workman, 67, passed away peacefully on June 2, 2019 at Hospice of Kimes in Athens. She was born September 28, 1951 at Sheltering Arms, Athens Ohio.

Mary graduated from Federal Hocking in 1969. She retired from O’bleness Memorial Hospital after 34 years of service where she was known for her amazing smile and kind words. She enjoyed working on the farm, helping others whenever she could, collecting antiques and spending time with friends and family.

She is survived by her loving husband, Kenneth R (Bobby) Workman of 47 years; her daughters, Bobbie Jo Workman of Albany, Ohio and Jamie (Henry) Hart and a grandson, Adam Hart of Shade, Ohio; a brother, George (Linda) Urssing of Carroll, Ohio; Nieces and nephew, Amy and Kaylee Davisson; Jeremy Moore and Lani (Blackford) Ohly; and many family and friends.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Franklin T (Gussy) Blackford and Elizabeth E (Weiland) Blackford of Athens, Ohio; a brother, Joseph Blackford of Athens Ohio; a sister, Julia R (Blackford) Shick of Athens, Ohio and a niece, Forrest Rose Blackford of Athens, Ohio.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with the funeral service following at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 8th, 2019 at Bigony-Jordan Funeral Home in Albany, Ohio with Bert Christian officiating. A private burial will held at a later time with family at School Lot Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, Mary’s wishes were for flowers to be sent to someone you love.

A potluck dinner will be held at Libby’s Pumpkin Patch immediately following the services at 41251 State Farm Road, Albany Ohio 45710 for a celebration of Mary’s life.
