Fatal Crash Occurs in Meigs County
POMEROY, Ohio – A fatal crash occurred in the early morning hours in Meigs County on June 25, 2019.
According to a statement from the Pomeroy Fire Department, they responded to “a report of a one vehicle rollover with possible entrapment on State Route 833, at Dixon Road, in Salisbury Township.”
Once on scene firefighters did indeed find a vehicle had left the roadway and struck a creek bank. Meigs County EMS along with fire personnel found one person deceased in the vehicle, while two others had managed to remove themselves from the vehicle.
“Crews set up traffic control and lighting for the crash reconstruction team during the investigation. The fire department also requested AEP and Columbia Gas to the scene for a utility check due to the accident,” according to the statement.
Personnel remained on-site for 3 hours until being released by the Ohio State Highway Patrol, which is leading the investigation into the crash.
Responding to the scene were Pomeroy Pumpers 1 and 3, Meigs County EMS, the Meigs County Sheriff’s office, the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Anderson-McDaniel Funeral Home, AEP, Columbia Gas, and 33 Auto Towing.
