Meigs Countian Reappointed to Ohio Water Development Authority by Gov. DeWine
COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio Governor Mike DeWine has reappointed Jimmy Stewart of Albany, Ohio in Meigs County to the Ohio Water Development Authority (Authority) for a term beginning July 1, 2019, and ending June 30, 2027.
Stewart serves as the Chairman and leads the efforts of the Authority’s Research and Development Grant Committee.
Created by the State of Ohio in 1968, the Authority provides funding for the construction of public water and wastewater infrastructure. In 2018, the Authority funded 380 projects in 84 of the 88 counties.
Since 2011, the year Stewart was appointed, the Authority has provided $54 million to projects in Athens County and $33 million to projects in Meigs County.
Stewart served in the Ohio General Assembly from 2003 to 2011 in both the House of Representatives and the Senate.
