Dear Valued Voters:

It is my pleasure to prepare this letter as an introduction of myself as a candidate for the Office of Mayor of the Village of Rutland and share with you my objectives on issues that are important to you and your family. Embarking on this journey has been filled with great enthusiasm and I’m looking forward to working in partnership with each of you to revitalize our unique community.

For 24 years, I have had the pleasure of calling Rutland my home—a small, bucolic village which has made fruitful some of the most enjoyable and memorable moments of my childhood; a place where I learned to grow into the ambitious individual that I am today.

An alumnus of Meigs High School, I later studied nursing at Buckeye Hills Career Center, where I received my Diploma in Practical Nursing as a graduate nurse of the class of 2015. Immediately thereafter, I successfully achieved the National Council Licensure Examination and gained a position as a Licensed Practical Nurse Supervisor at Overbrook Rehabilitation Center, where I continue to supervise and provide care to twenty-eight wonderful residents today.

In addition to my nursing service, I have recently enjoyed nearly three years of working with my fellow neighbors as Co-Founder, Co-Incorporator and Inaugural President of Friends of Rutland, a community service organization dedicated to improving the quality of life in the Village of Rutland. Of the numerous accomplishments through this role, I directed a team of dedicated individuals forward on the incorporation of a civic welfare-based nonprofit corporation; the successful implementation of 12 community service activities with more than $4,000 procured in community fundraising efforts; and the development of eLedger, an online gateway connecting donors to their contributions—bolstering transparency on the organization’s revenue and expenditures.

My public service is strongly rooted in my character deep in professionalism, hard workmanship, honesty, compassion and courtesy. With your support this mayoral election, I can invigorate my devotion to public service through a heartwarming opportunity which will allow me to proudly serve as your mayor. Together, I am confident that we can successfully tackle the issues and overcome the many challenges that impede our community’s growth and success.

Through my leadership, we will improve service through government reform centered on accountability, courtesy, outreach, professionalism and transparency; abate public nuisances; beautify our village; build a more collaborative and united community; develop a revenue plan that steers us away from fiscal distress; evaluate solutions to rising sewer and water service costs; ensure a balanced budget; eradicate corruption; improve our essential public services; reduce tax delinquency; and strive for both community and economic growth.

Among all, everyone deserves a municipal government dedicated to the success of their community and the concerns of its people, including you! As a citizen, you deserve the opportunity to engage in the decisions of your public officials and an opportunity to question or protest the same. As a consumer of public utilities, you deserve answers to your questions on rising service costs and the plan for capital improvements. As a taxpayer, you deserve to enjoy adequate essential public services, the expenditures of which made transparent for you to examine. And; as one suffering from the fiscal consequences of corruption, you deserve accountability. A vote for me is a vote to secure these very principles.

If you would like to learn more about my 30-point plan to revitalize the Village of Rutland, please visit my website at www.eblinforrutland.org; or, if you would like to share your concerns, questions and suggestions for improvement, contact me online by e-Mail at [email protected] or write me a letter, mailed to Post Office Box 26, Rutland, Ohio 45775. Each is important to me and I’m looking forward to hearing from you!

The time to improve is now. Let’s choose the individual who loves his community the most, understands its unique challenges the best; and, who is committed to transforming its potential for success into a reality. On Tuesday, November 5, 2019, please elect Tyler M. Eblin as your next mayor of Rutland.

Your support is greatly appreciated.

God bless,

Tyler M. Eblin
