POMEROY, Ohio – Due to the continuing COVID-19 crisis, local offices are adjusting services and closing offices to the public.

Meigs County Auditor

The Meigs County Auditor Office has closed to the public, but will continue to conduct business as possible. Meigs County Auditor Mary Byer-Hill said she hoped the public would understand as everyone works to adapt to this crisis. The office phone is 740-992-2698 and fax 740-992-6289. Meigs County Job and Family Services

The Meigs County Job and Family Services have also closed to the public. According to Director Chris Shank, “In response to COVID-19, the coronavirus, and to protect the families and children we serve, as well as our employees, the Meigs County Department of Job and Family Services (MCDJFS) has modified the way customers access programs.”

MCDJFS remains open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. All services remain available. Certain precautions have been enacted. Face to face contact with staff will be severely limited. We ask that you do not come to the office if it can be avoided.

OSU Extension Meigs County

Starting Wednesday, March 18, 2020, at 4 p.m. the OSU Extension Office in Meigs County will close temporarily in response to confirmation of the coronavirus in the State of Ohio. The office will re-open once official notification has been communicated that normal office functions can resume.

In a statement from the Meigs County office, “We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. At this time all staff are continuing to serve clientele remotely during normal office hours (M-T, 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.) via phone, email and voice mail messages.”

Meigs County Housing Authority

The Meigs Housing Authority is closed to the public effective March 17, 2020. This will remain in effect until further notice. They will be conducting as much business as possible by phone and the US Postal Service.
