Pomeroy Man Arrested After Allegedly Trespassing
POMEROY, Ohio – A reported trespassing incident results in one man being arrested.
According to Meigs County Sheriff Keith Wood, on Wednesday, July 22, 2020 his office received a phone call from a homeowner on Ball Run Road in Pomeroy stating that he caught a male trespassing on his property. The homeowner also reported that the suspect was attempting to gain entry into his residence through his back door.
Sgt. Frank Stewart and Deputy Tylun Campbell arrived on the scene and the suspect was taken into custody without incident. The suspect was identified as Roger L. Roush, 45, of Pomeroy. Roush was arrested and charged with Attempted Trespass in a Habitation, a Felony of the Fifth Degree. According to a statement from Sheriff Wood, “It was determined at the scene that the suspect was under the influence of methamphetamine at the time of his arrest. Roush is currently being housed in the Middleport Jail awaiting his arraignment in Meigs County Court.”
All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
