Five More COVID-19 Cases, Outbreak Continues at Nursing Facility

POMEROY, Ohio – The Meigs County Health Department is reporting five additional confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Meigs County. Four of today’s cases are linked to an outbreak at Overbrook Rehabilitation Center. Today’s case of COVID-19 brings Meigs County to 33 active cases, and 64 total cases (51 Confirmed, 13Probable) since April.

Today’s cases:

  • Confirmed case, female in the 10 to 19-year-old age range, who is not hospitalized.
  • Confirmed case, female in the 60 to 69-year-old age range, who is hospitalized.
  • Confirmed case, male in the 80 to 89-year-old age range, who is not hospitalized.
  • Confirmed case, female in the 40 to 49-year-old age range, who is not hospitalized.
  • Confirmed case, female in the 10 to 19-year-old age range, who is not hospitalized.

The health department states, “We ask residents to please refrain from calling the Health Department for questions regarding these cases while we complete our disease investigations, contact tracing, and notify relevant individuals. The cases and individuals identified as contacts of the case will be advised to self-quarantine in accordance with CDC guidance.”

The health department continues to urge residents to continue following federal, state, and local guidance to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
