Meigs COVID-19 Update: Currently 20 Active Cases

POMEROY, Ohio – The Meigs County Health Department is reporting one additional confirmed case and one probable case of COVID-19 in Meigs County. Today’s cases of COVID-19 bring Meigs County to 20 active cases, and 170 total cases (144 Confirmed, 26 Probable) since April.

Today’s Cases:

  • Confirmed case, male in the 40 to 49-year-old age range, who is not hospitalized.
  • Confirmed case, male in the 10 to 19-year-old age range, who is not hospitalized. 

MCHD is also reporting three additional individuals have been reported as recovered today. This brings the total recovered cases to 141.

Unfortunately, the Meigs County Health Department announced on September 16 two additional deaths associated with COVID-19. The deceased individuals were in the 80 to 89-year-old age range and 90 to 99-year-old age range and brings the total COVID-19 associated deaths to nine in Meigs County. The Health Department extend their condolences to families and friends of these individuals.  

Residents are asked to refrain from calling the Health Department for questions regarding this case while they complete disease investigations, contact tracing, and notify relevant individuals. The case and individuals identified as contacts of the case will be advised to self-quarantine in accordance with CDC guidance.
