Meigs COVID-19 Update: 17 Cases Reported, 11 Recovered
POMEROY, Ohio – The Meigs County Health Department is reporting 17 additional confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Meigs County from November 14 to 16, 2020. These cases of COVID-19 bring Meigs County to 49 active cases, and 328 total cases (290 Confirmed, 42 Probable) since April. The active number has been fluctuating as more cases are confirmed and more cases are classified as recovered.
November 14-16 Cases:
- Confirmed case, male in the 30 to 39-year-old age range, who is not hospitalized.
- Confirmed case, male in the 50 to 59-year-old age range, who is not hospitalized.
- Confirmed case, female in the 30 to 39-year-old age range, who is not hospitalized.
- Confirmed case, male in the less than 12 months to 9-year-old age range, who is not hospitalized.
- Confirmed case, male in the 40 to 49-year-old age range, who is not hospitalized.
- Confirmed case, female in the 50 to 59-year-old age range, who is not hospitalized.
- Confirmed case, female in the 60 to 69-year-old age range, who is not hospitalized.
- Confirmed case, male in the 40 to 49-year-old age range, who is not hospitalized.
- Confirmed case, male in the 10 to 19-year-old age range, who is not hospitalized.
- Confirmed case, male in the 40 to 49-year-old age range, who is not hospitalized.
- Confirmed case, male in the 80 to 89-year-old age range, who is not hospitalized.
- Confirmed case, male in the 10 to 19-year-old age range, who is not hospitalized.
- Confirmed case, female in the 40 to 49-year-old age range, who is not hospitalized.
- Confirmed case, female in the 70 to 79-year-old age range, who is not hospitalized.
- Confirmed case, female in the 70 to 79-year-old age range, who is not hospitalized.
- Confirmed case, male in the 80 to 89-year-old age range, who is not hospitalized.
- Confirmed case, female in the 20 to 29-year-old age range, who is not hospitalized.
The Meigs County Health Department is also releasing that 11 additional cases of COVID-19 have recovered. This brings the total number of recovered cases in Meigs County to 268.
Residents are asked to refrain from calling the Health Department for questions regarding these cases while they complete disease investigations, contact tracing, and notify relevant individuals. The cases and individuals identified as contacts of these cases will be advised to self-quarantine in accordance with CDC guidance.
The health department has seen an increase in cases over the couple weeks and urges residents to continue following federal, state, and local guidance to prevent the spread of COVID-19, including practicing social distancing, handwashing and wearing a face covering. The health department would also like to also remind businesses that the state issued orders are still in effect and need to be followed to reduce the rise in community spread we are currently seeing.
