One Fatality Following Morning Two Vehicle Crash

LONG BOTTOM, Ohio – A two vehicle crash has resulted in one fatality in Meigs County.

According to the Gallipolis Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred on November 30, at 7:08 a.m. on State Route 7 near mile port 17 in Meigs County. The roadway was closed for approximately three hours as a result of the crash. The crash remains under investigation, but according to a statement from the OSHP, Stanley R. Kevech, 60, of Charleroi, Pennsylvania in a 2015 Dodge Ram truck was traveling southwest on State Route 7. Larry D. Jividen, 74, of West Columbia, West Virginia in a 2005 Ford F-150 was traveling northeast on State Route 7 with a passenger, Brenda K. Jividen, 71, also of West Columbia. According to the OSHP, Larry Jividen traveled left of center and struck Kevech. Larry Jividen’s truck traveled off the left side of the roadway and struck a guardrail. Kevech traveled off the left side of the roadway, struck a mailbox and embankment.

Larry Jividen died as a result of the injuries. Brenda Jividen was listed as “non-incapacitating injuries” and was transported to Holzer Emergency Department of Pomeroy by Meigs County EMS. According to the report, Kevech was listed as having no injuries. All were wearing seat belts.

Agencies responding in addition to the OSHP and Meigs EMS were Meigs County Sheriff’s Office, Meigs County ODOT, Chester Volunteer Fire Department, Meigs County Coroner, Anderson McDaniel Funeral Home, 33 Auto and Racine Service Center Towing.
