Lloyd Douglas Grimm Jr., 98

Lloyd Douglas Grimm Jr., 98, of Lancaster, departed this life on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 to be with his Lord whom he loved dearly. He was born January 5, 1923 in Lancaster, Ohio the son of Lloyd Douglas Sr. and Edna Melissa (Lienard) Grimm.  

Lloyd was a 1941 graduate of Lancaster High School and received his  degree from Olivet Nazarene College Bible School.   After completing Bible college, Lloyd became an ordained elder and pastor in the Nazarene Church serving congregations in Fairview Park, Zanesville, Kingston, Lithopolis and West Layfayette.  He retired in 1985 at the age of 62 from the Rutland Church of the Nazarene. Following retirement, Lloyd pastored multiple churches in Meigs County retiring again in 2013 at the age of 90.  He was a member of the Logan Church of the Nazarene.  During his ministry, Lloyd wrote and published multiple books. 

Lloyd is survived by his sons, John (Sherrie) Grimm and Bob (Jackie) Grimm; step-daughters, Debbie (Tim) Freeland and Sheryl (Joe) Richards; grandchildren, Terri Rice, Kathy (Jeff) Grundey, John Jr., Jeremy, Israel (Leeann), Tim (Amanda) Grimm; numerous and great-great grandchildren; sister, Eleanor Ruff; sisters-in-law, Wanda Grimm and Elizabeth Grimm; and several nieces and nephews.   He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Mary Ellen (Cox) Grimm 1979; and second wife, Fern Judith Grimm, 2020; 3 brothers, Leonard (Margaret), Robert and Howard; brother-in-law, Earl Ruff; grandson-in-law, Ed Rice.  

A time to visit with Lloyd’s family will take place Sunday from 2-5 p.m. at Morgan Funeral Home, Bremen.  Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. with one hour prior visiting at the Logan Nazarene Church with Rev. Tom Gates and Rev. Trevor Johnston officiating.  Graveside services will follow at 2 p.m. at Gravel Hill Cemetery, 1079 Gravel Hill Road, Cheshire, Ohio 45620.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Lloyd’s memory to Logan Christian School, 650 Walhonding, Logan, OH 43138.   Online condolences at www.morganfuneralhomeohio.com
