Gene Parker Hood, 63, of Syracuse

Gene Parker Hood, 63, of Syracuse, Ohio passed away on September 8, 2021.  He was born on June 30, 1958 in Gallipolis, Ohio son of the late Harold Eugene and Mary June Hood.

Gene was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was proud to serve on the Board of Directors and donate much of his time helping at the Syracuse Community Center.

He is survived  by his wife, Deb Burns Hood; daughters, Katelyn (Thomas) Roberts and Zari (Richard) Mainville; siblings, Brenessa Phillips, Mark Hood and Phil (Tammy) Hood; grandchildren, Jaiden and Taylor Roberts and Braxton Mainville; aunts and uncles, Charlene Cochran, Dick and Diane Hood and Mary Kay Greer; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Kathleen and C.P. Williams.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at 12 p.m. at Anderson McDaniel Funeral Home in Pomeroy. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery. Visiting hours will be on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the funeral home.
