She is also survived by her Uncle William Bailey, Aunt Darlene Emmett, sister-in-law Suzanne Waldron, sister-in-law Beverly (Steve) Frayne, Brother-in-law John Samuel “Sam” (Diane) Hammett, Aunt -in-law Anita Morsman. Several nieces and nephews; Brian Waldron, Jennifer Waldron, Daniel Frayne, Steven Frayn, Zachary Hammett, and Mary Diane Hammett. Chris adopted many more close friends that she loved and treated like family.

Chris was proceeded in death by her mother Irene Ellen (Mc Angus) Bailey, brother Robert “Bob” C. Bailey Sr., father-in-law John Hammett, mother-in-law Mary L. Hammett, Grandparents Carl & Dorothy Bailey, and Uncle and Aunt, Marin & Mary Mc Angus.

Chris was a 1974 Graduate of Meigs High School in Meigs County. She also Graduated from Mountain State College and Gallipolis Business College. Will and Chris married May 9th, 1998. They built her forever home on her family farm off SR 143 where Will built her a small barn and competition area.  As Chris said, every cowgirl’s dream. Chris worked at AEP for 26 years and retired in 2001.  She spent her retirement playing with her horses and dogs.

Chris was a 4-H advisor/volunteer for many years; she was an advisor for the Rough Riders, and she was on the 4-H Horse Committee too. Chris attended the Meigs County fair every year. She was there this year in the back of their truck with an umbrella to protect her, but she had to watch the kids show.

Chris was an active member in AQHA, WVQHA, TQHA, NSBA, Roan Horse Assoc. and many more.  She had a great love for horses; it all started with her first pony, Smokey.  She had many horses throughout the years… her last two purchases were just what she always dreamed of- both Hank and Frankie have World Champion Titles respectfully. Will is famous for saying, “Stay in the slow lane and enjoy the ride!” we sure hope Chris is enjoying her ride.

Chris also had a love for dogs, she had owned Dachshunds (Jasper & Heidi) and a Collie (Precious)… Precious is still living and will greatly miss Chris. Chris loved her puppy kisses from about any dog.

The family would like to give special thanks to Edwards Comprehensive Center of Huntington WV, Dr. Nadium Bou Zgheib and his staff, also Holzer Hospice Nurses: Belinda, Janet, Nicole, and Jacky.  Your care was amazing and helpful to the family.
