Pomeroy Police Investigating Suspicious Death

POMEROY, Ohio – A suspicious death is being investigated by law enforcement in Pomeroy.

Pomeroy Police Chief Chris Pitchford told the Meigs Independent Press, the body of Terry Weaver, 66, of Pomeroy was discovered in his home on the evening of December 22. Chief Pitchford said the death is being investigated as “suspicious” at this time. He said the investigation is ongoing, but a person of interest is in custody at this time. The name of the person of interest has not yet been released by law enforcement.

In addition to the Pomeroy Police Department, Chief Pitchford said Ohio BCI, Meigs County Sheriff’s Office, Major Crimes Task Force and the Meigs County Prosecutor’s Office are involved in the ongoing investigation.

Chief Pitchford said more information would be released as it is available.
