Clarence Thomas “Buzzard” Wolfe, 74
Clarence Thomas “Buzzard” Wolfe, 74, of Long Bottom, Ohio, passed away peacefully from this life, surrounded by his children, on January 1, 2022, at 1:37 a.m. at OSU East after a brief illness.
Tom was born March 5, 1947 in Racine, Ohio to the late Manchester and Sylvia (Sarson) Wolfe in Racine. Sadly, he was also preceded by his wife of 42 years, Rosalie (Spriggs) Wolfe, originally from Conover, Ohio, only nine days prior to his own passing.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters, Juanita Justis of Belpre, Drusilla Hart of New Haven, Joan Pickens of Racine, and Sharon (whom he lovingly called “Beautiful”) Meadows, of Virginia; his brothers, Davey D. Wolfe of Letart Falls, and Ray Wolfe of Rutland.
He retired from Racine Village and was a proud member of the US Marine Corp, during the Vietnam era. Upon returning to his home of Racine, he became a farmer. In his spare, time, he would hunt and trap, but his favorite pastime was during springtime…walking through the woods spotting morel mushrooms from 25 feet or more away.
He is survived by his daughter, Tara D. (Robert) Baynard of Racine; and son, Anthony “Todd” (Toni Combs) Wolfe of Syracuse; two brothers, George E. Wolfe and Wilson Wolfe, both of Racine; stepson, Larry T. “Pete” (Holly) Durst of Hilliard; stepdaughter, Patricia L. (Bobbi) Durst; 11 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and numerous friends, including his brothers and sisters at the American Legion Post 602 and Auxiliary.
Memorial services will be held for Tom and Rose at the same time on March 12, 2022 at the Racine American Legion Post 602. There will be a military service for CPL Clarence T. Wolfe at 1 p.m. at the Veterans Memorial, then services will conclude for Tom and begin for Rose.
