Darrell Lee Bechtle

Darrell Lee Bechtle, 80, of West Columbia, WV, passed away Thursday, February 16, 2023, at Overbrook Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Middleport, OH.

He was born August 3, 1942, in Dunbar, WV, a son of the late John W. “Jack” and Euvetta (Barnett) Bechtle. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, John A. Bechtle.

Darrell was a 1961 graduate of Middleport High School and was a retired Coal Miner from Meigs Mines # 2, with 27 years of service. He was a member of the Middleport Masonic Lodge #363 and Clifton United Methodist Church. Darrell loved his dogs, enjoyed attending auctions and collecting antique items.

Survivors include his wife of 17 years, Mary Ann (Hoffman) Bechtle; son, John D. Bechtle and his wife Vicki of Middleport, OH; sister, Sarah Klontz and her husband, Russell of Zephyrhills, FL and one step-grandchild, Brendan Nuscis.

In honoring Darrell’s wishes, services will be private.
