…High Fire Danger In Southeast Ohio This afternoon and
Evening…
Here is a fire danger statement issued in coordination with the
Ohio Division of Forestry.
A combination of dry and windy conditions will create an elevated
risk of fire spread this afternoon into early this evening.
Minimum relative humidity values are forecast to drop to between
30 and 35 percent, with sustained southwest winds of 10 to 15 mph,
and gusts of 20 to 25 mph.
Residents are urged to exercise caution if handling any potential
ignition sources, such as machinery, cigarettes, or matches. If
dry grasses and tree litter begin to burn, the fire will have the
potential to spread rapidly.
Ohio law prohibits burning in the spring from 6AM to 6PM…March
1st through May 31st.
