Propane leak in Reedsville

REEDSVILLE, Ohio – According to Meigs EMS State Route 124 in the Village of Reedsville is closed due to a propane gas leak, which has led to the evacuation of residences in Reedsville Tuesday night.

Due to the potential danger associated with a gas leak, first responders were going door to door to alert residents near the leak. Those evacuated were directed to go to the Olive Township Fire Department.

In addition to Olive Township Fire Department, Chester Fire Department, Meigs County Sheriff’s Office, Meigs County EMA, Meigs County EMS, and ODOT responded.

State Route 124 and State Route 681 in the area have been closed to traffic as a precautionary measure.
