Patrol plans a sobriety checkpoint
GALLIPOLIS, Ohio – The Ohio State Highway Patrol is planning to operate an OVI checkpoint this week.
According to law, this information must be made public. The county where the checkpoint will take place will be announced the day prior to the checkpoint. The location will be announced the morning of the checkpoint.
According to a statement from OSHP, “If you plan to consume alcohol, designate a driver or make other travel arrangements before you drink. Don’t let another life be lost for the senseless and selfish act of getting behind the wheel impaired.
Local law enforcement agencies will also be assisting in the operational support of the sobriety checkpoint.
