More rain possible this week
RACINE, Ohio – Following a day of storms and flash flooding, Meigs County and the surrounding areas can expect much calmer weather for Tuesday before the chance of rain returns on Thursday.
Not all of Meigs County experienced the same heavy downpours the line of storms moving through region brought. In Washington County, Belpre experienced street flooding and issues with the line of storms as did areas in West Virginia.
The National Weather Service is reporting .53 inches of rainfall at Salem Center in Meigs County. Reedsville is reporting 1.45 inches of rainfall in the same time period from August 4, 2023 at 9:42 p.m. to August 7, 2023 at 9:30 p.m.
According to the National Weather Service, Tuesday will be mostly sunny with a high near 82. Wednesday will continue to be sunny with a high near 84. Thunderstorms may return Wednesday night with a showers likely and a possible thunderstorm during the night. New rainfall amounts could be between a tenth and a quarter of an inch, with more possible in thunderstorms. More rain is possibly through the end of the week.
