Racine Southern FFA members compete in job interview contest

RACINE, Ohio – Members of the Racine Southern FFA competed recently in the Job Interview Career Development Event (CDE).

Prior to the event, FFA members submit a resume and write a cover letter. During the event, FFA members complete a job application for an agricultural position on site and participate in an interview. After the interview they write a follow-up letter.

Members must win the district contest to move on to the state contest. State winning individuals advance to national competition. The national competition is held at the National FFA Convention with the winner receiving a $1,000 scholarship.

Racine FFA Members competed in the D10 Job Interview CDE which was held at
Symmes Valley on October 26, 2023. Each school is only allowed to send one member per
grade level. Sophomore, Hunter Jarrell placed ninth in the contest. Junior, Hannah
Turley placed thirteenth. Senior, Katie placed thirteenth in the contest.

Members gained valuable experience in job interviewing skills in preparation for the real world.
