More details released in State Route 7 fatal crash

MIDDLEPORT, Ohio – Details have been released in the fatal crash on State Route 7 on Feb. 8.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the two-vehicle crash happened at 2:34 p.m. near Hobson Drive and State Route 7. Bruce McCloud, 50, of Middleport, was driving southbound on State Route 7. Matthew Traywick, 42, of Gallipolis, was driving a 2023 Ford F250 northbound. According to the OSHP, McCloud went left of center striking Traywick head-on.
McCloud was pronounced dead at the scene. Traywick was taken to Grant Medical Center for his injuries. No update on his current condition was given.
The incident remains under investigation.
Responding to the scene including OSHP were Meigs County Sheriff’s Office, Meigs County EMS, Meigs County Coroner, Meigs County ODOT, Middleport Police Department, Middleport Fire Department, Five Time Towing, and 33 Auto.
