James Birkbeck

James Birkbeck, 88, of Coolville, OH, passed away Monday, March 4, 2023, at his residence.

He was Nov. 21, 1935, in Bethel, OH, son of the late Albert and Alma Christianson Birkbeck.

James was an Army veteran and a retired fishing boat captain. He enjoyed Bluegrass music, flea markets and was an avid fisherman.

James is survived by a niece, Isabella and Jeff Bashan; 2 great-nieces, Nichole Loiseau and Jaymie Bashan and his lifelong friend, Boyd “Windy” Sidwell, whom he also served with in the military.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Isabella Birkbeck and a niece, Emily Jane Chutes.

There will be no visitation or funeral service.
