Search continues for missing Pomeroy man
POMEROY, Ohio – The search is continuing for a missing Pomeroy man.
According to Sheriff Scott Fitch, his office is still actively searching for Jacob Cole Clevenger.
“We have been in the area all day again today searching on foot as well as flying the area with drones. We are exhausting all resources available to us at this time to locate Jacob Clevenger.”
Sheriff Fitch said Clevenger has been added to the nationwide database for missing persons. He said his office continues to follow up on leads, tips, and possible sightings.
The sheriff also reminds the public not to approach Clevenger.
“He is still expected to be armed with a .22 caliber rifle and we are unaware of his intentions,” he said
Clevenger, 21, is described as 6 feet tall, 130 pounds, black hair and brown eyes. Clevenger’s hair is partially missing and his face has severe scarring from being exposed to a fire.
The search began for Clevenger yesterday. In addition to the Meigs County Sheriff’s Office, other local law enforcement agencies have been involved with the search. The Ohio State Highway Patrol’s aviation unit was also used along with the sheriff’s office drone.
Anyone seeing Clevenger or having information on his whereabouts should call 740-922-6663.
