Fire Departments Holding Events this Weekend

Several Meigs County fire departments are holding events Saturday, Aug. 24 and Sunday, Aug. 25.

Bashan Volunteer Fire Department will hold their annual ice cream social beginning at 11am on Aug. 24. Ice cream will be available by the cup, pint and quart in many delicious flavors. Live music from a couple of bands, and food by donation made by the Carmel Sutton Friendship Circle. Meet your friends and neighbors while enjoying some homemade ice cream.

Middleport Volunteer Fire Department will host a fish fry beginning at 11am at the fire station on Aug. 24. Fish sandwiches will be available for a small fee, with all proceeds going towards fire protection equipment. Get there on time as MFD generally sells out!

Columbia Township Volunteer Fire Department will be holding their annual hog roast on Aug. 25. The event begins at 1 p.m. A delicious meal will be available for sale and a Chinese auction begins at 2 p.m. The raffle of the chest freezer and beef takes place during the event (all tickets have been sold). Come out and have a great afternoon at a fun local event.
