Two Construction Workers Injured in Hit and Run

Two construction workers were hit by a vehicle Monday afternoon in Racine, Ohio.
The Racine Fire Department along with Meigs County EMS responded to 5th and Vine in the village. Crews have been working on a sidewalk replacement project.
One of the construction workers was flown by medical helicopter to St. Mary’s. The other was taken by ground to Holzer Meigs Emergency Department. The names of the two construction workers has not been released.
The Meigs County Sheriff’s Office and Ohio State Highway Patrol also responded. Law enforcement was looking for a male suspect in a white truck following the incident according to the Meigs County Sheriff’s Office Capt. Frank Stewart.
Capt. Stewart said deputies did take a suspect into custody and turned him over to the Ohio State Highway Patrol. The suspect was then released from custody by the OSHP. The name was not released on the suspect at the time of publishing.
