Hartford Man Arrested for Multiple Felonies
One person is in custody following a tip to local law enforcement.
According to the Mason Metro Police Department, they acted on a tip concerning Michael S. Riggs. Riggs, 34, was wanted on multiple charges including felony charges involving strangulation and kidnapping. The Mason County Magistrate Court had issued warrants on the charges.
Riggs was arrested in Hartford, West Virginia, near his place of residence. According to MMPD, Riggs attempted to flee from officers on foot, but was quickly taken into custody.
In addition to the other charges he was already facing, MMPD says Riggs was found to be in possession of 11.26 grams of suspected methamphetamine. This resulted in an additional felony charge.
Riggs was already had outstanding misdemeanor warrants for leaving the scene of an accident and operating without a valid license.
Riggs was transported to the Western Regional Jail where he awaits arraignment.
