Upcoming Events at Hocking Hills
Hocking Hills State Park offers a variety of activities the whole family is sure to love, or couples may enjoy as a date idea that’s off the beaten path. All listed events are free to the public. The following is a list of programs offered now through November 30.
October 26, 10:30a.m. – 3:00p.m.: Hocking Fall Color Tour 2024 – Historical Hocking State Forest Cabin: GPS Coordinates: 39.4578, -82.5778
Please join for a day in beautiful Hocking State Forest and learn from professional foresters about Ohio’s forest resources! Some of the activities of the day will include: Learn about Forest Management on State and Private Lands, Firewood Processor Demonstration, Wildland Fire Engine and Dozer, Chainsaw Skills and Safety Demo, Tree Identification, Wagon Rides through the Forest, and more! Refreshments will be provided.
October 29, 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.: Old Man’s Cave Hike – Meet at the Old Man’s Cave Visitor Center at 10am.
Join the naturalist for a 1-mile historic tour through Old Mans Cave. This hike is moderate difficulty. Please dress for the weather.
October 31, 10:00a.m. – 11:30a.m.: Cantwell Cliffs Hike – Meet at the Cantwell Cliffs trailhead.
Join the naturalist for a challenging 1.5 mile hike through Cantwell Cliffs.
November 2, 10:00a.m. – 11:00a.m.: Mystery Critter Chat – Upstairs in Visitor Center
Stop by the Visitor Center to help figure out what the critter of the day is based on clues from the naturalist!
November 2, 2:00p.m. – 3:00p.m.: A Beary Good Program – Lodge Lobby
Learn some facts about the smallest and most widespread bear in North America, the American black bear!
November 5, 10:00a.m. – 11:00a.m.: Old Man’s Cabe Hike – Meet at the Old Man’s Cave Visitor Center at 10am.
Join our naturalist for a 1-mile historic tour through Old Mans Cave. This hike is moderate difficulty. Please dress for the weather.
November 7, 10:00a.m. – 11:00a.m.: Lower Falls Hike – Visitor Center
Meet the naturalist at the Visitor Center for a challenging 1.5-mile hike to lower falls. Dress for the weather.
November 8, 10:00a.m. – 11:00a.m.: Rock Painting – Visitor Center
Meet in the Visitor Center for a fun craft painting some rocks you can take home or leave to decorate outside the Visitor Center. Wear clothing you don’t mind getting paint on.
November 9, 2:00p.m. – 3:00p.m.: Resident Raptors – Hocking Hills State Park Lodge
Come see one of our rescued raptor friends and learn about what makes these birds a top predator. Join us at the Hocking Hills State Park Lodge.
November 12, 10:00a.m. – 11:00a.m.: Old Man’s Cabe Hike – Meet at the Old Man’s Cave Visitor Center at 10am.

Join the naturalist at the Visitor Center to create your own take home animal track made with clay.
November 16, 2:00p.m. – 3:00p.m.: Fantastic Foxes – Lodge Lobby
What does the fox say? Find out and more when we talk about Ohio’s two native fox species. Meet at the State Park Lodge.
November 21, 10:00a.m. – 11:00a.m.: Ash Cave Hike – Ash Cave Trailhead
Join the naturalist at the Ash Cave trailhead for an easy half mile hike to our largest recessed cave.
November 22, 10:00a.m. – 11:00a.m.: Mystery Critter Chat – Upstairs of Visitor Center

November 29, 10:00a.m. – 11:00a.m.: Paper Snowflakes – Upstairs in Visitor Center
Use paper and scissors to create your own winter wonderland decorations! Meet at the Visitor Center.
November 30, 2:00p.m. – 3:00p.m.: Skillful Skunks – Lodge Lobby
Why do skunks spray and what happens when you are sprayed? Hear about what to do and learn some facts about skunks in Ohio. Meet at the state park lodge.
