Former Cheerleading Coach Detained And Charged With Illegal Recording

A former coach with a youth cheerleading organization has been arrested and accused of recording the group’s owners without their permission, according to jail records obtained by KTSM and interviews with the claimed victims.

Christopher Sotelo was charged with two counts of invasive visual recording. He was arrested on Saturday, August 30, but has already secured a surety bond and has been released from jail.

The owners of the Texas Bandits All-Stars cheerleading company stated that Sotelo was originally hired by them but was sacked following the event.

The organization’s proprietors, who declined to be identified, informed KTSM that they were the victims and had been recorded without their permission.

The owners stated that they are filing charges, and an investigation is ongoing.
