Irving Fugitive Unit Arrest Armed Robbery Suspect After High-risk Vehicle Chase

On Tuesday, August 27, 2025, at approximately 4:15 p.m., officers from the Irving Police Department Fugitive Unit conducted surveillance at an apartment complex located at 4520 Ambassador Way in Balch Springs, TX, with the target of apprehending 22-year-old Damaija Robinson, who is wanted in connection with an armed robbery.

Officer Kevin Goodman saw Robinson get into a black 2025 Hyundai Elantra and sit in the driver’s seat. Officers started vehicle confinement. As Officer Goodman approached, Robinson rammed the police vehicle’s front left quarter panel with his automobile, then drove through the confinement and struck Officer Alan Lotspeich’s surveillance vehicle.

Robinson attempted to flee by swerving around Officer Jonathan Towns’ vehicle at the exit gate but was eventually stopped by an uninvolved parked automobile.

Robinson was arrested and charged with:

  • Evading Arrest or Detention in a Vehicle
  • Probation Violation (he had a previous evading conviction and was on probation)

His bond was set at $475,000, and he is still in detention pending an Electronic Monitoring Device (ELM).
