Family of teen killed by Cincinnati police demands justice at vigil

CINCINNATI, OHIO – The family of 18-year-old Ryan Hinton, who was fatally shot by police, called for justice after attending a Saturday vigil held in his memory.

Police said Ryan was killed on May 1 in the parking lot of a condo complex in East Price Hill. Officers were tracking a stolen vehicle and discovered Ryan inside with three others. According to authorities, Ryan was shot after allegedly pointing a gun at an officer while trying to escape.

Ryan’s family insisted that the officer involved in the shooting should face charges.

In a related turn of events, authorities charged Ryan’s father, Rodney Hinton Jr., with running over and killing Sheriff’s Deputy Larry Henderson. The incident happened after Rodney viewed body camera footage of his son’s death. His attorney argues that Rodney experienced temporary insanity at the time.
