16-year-old Boy And Woman Shot And Injured In South Shore

A woman and a teenage boy were injured in a shooting in broad daylight on Sunday in Chicago’s South Shore neighborhood.

The 34-year-old woman and the 16-year-old child were outside around 10 a.m. in the 6700 block of South Cregier Avenue in South Shore when some individuals drove up in a car, displayed guns, and shot them both, according to police.

The teenage boy was shot three times in the body and was critically injured, while the woman was shot twice in the right leg and was reported to be in fair condition.

Both were sent to the University of Chicago Medical Center.

The Sunday afternoon shooting resulted in no arrests. Detectives from the Wentworth Area were conducting an investigation.
