During a significant narcotics bust last week, authorities confiscated a kilogram of fentanyl, multiple guns, and more than $16,000 in cash, city police said on Wednesday.
Following a month-long investigation focused on Carrollton Ridge’s Wilkens Avenue and Dover Street, the Southwest District Action Team conducted raids throughout Southwest Baltimore and Baltimore County.
In addition to the fentanyl, police said they found 1,100 suspected fentanyl capsules, a rifle, a Polymer80 ghost gun, a lot of packaging supplies, and $16,127 in cash.
Six people have been detained in connection with the case: Eric Taylor, 32; Derrick Stewart, 33; Matthew Brown, 41; Natasha Wilkins, 44; Elijah Dukes, 19; and a 17-year-old female.
Police claimed the amount of fentanyl confiscated had the potential to have a “widespread and significant impact” on the community.
Following the bust, the Baltimore Mayor’s Office of Neighborhood Safety and Engagement stated that it is collaborating with city, state, and federal agencies to provide services. Officials advised anybody involved in the narcotics operation to seek resources, quit peddling drugs, and lay down their guns.
