A 55-year-old man with a history of driving offenses was arrested again Wednesday afternoon following a traffic stop in Polk County.
Johnny Dale Buckalew, Jr. was arrested by the Polk County Sheriff’s Office after a deputy caught him driving a vehicle with the wrong tag and pulling a trailer with no license plate.
At about 3:02 p.m., a deputy stopped a red truck and trailer on Rockridge Road at US 98, just north of Lakeland. The deputy was drawn to the vehicle because the trailer lacked a license plate, and the truck’s tag did not belong to it.
Buckalew, who was driving the truck, recognized himself with his Florida ID card. According to the Sheriff’s Office, Buckalew informed the deputy that he had “just gotten out of jail for my license.”
This statement, along with the new offenses, resulted in his immediate arrest.
Buckalew was sent to the Sheriff’s Processing Center for yet another stint in jail.
