A man learned his fate. Following his conviction for drug trafficking in the East Valley

Calvin Coleman was sentenced to 15.75 years in prison on multiple drug trafficking counts, Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes stated on Friday.

Coleman was indicted in December 2023 after authorities discovered 4.8 pounds of fentanyl in a container being delivered to Mesa. Officers recognized Coleman as the package’s shipper and receiver.

Agents then raided Coleman’s home, discovering many guns, more fentanyl tablets, several prescription medicines, cocaine, and a scale, Mayes reported.

Investigators on the case were able to obtain video from Coleman’s residence, which showed him distributing drugs and illegally possessing multiple firearms, including an AR rifle, a Smith & Wesson handgun, an FN59 handgun, an ASAR 9mm handgun, and a G-force Arms shotgun, Mayes said.

According to Mayes, Coleman tried to depart Arizona prior to the trial. Coleman was convicted on April 3 of various narcotics trafficking offenses despite his absence from the trial.

Coleman was captured in Georgia and returned to Arizona to face his sentence.
