Operation Cottonmouth Arrest Nearly 30 Suspects In Oktibbeha County

The Oktibbeha County Sheriff’s Department revealed this week that 28 people had been arrested because of a five-month drug trafficking investigation.

Operation Cottonmouth, a collaborative initiative between the Starkville Police Department, Mississippi State Police, the United States Marshals Service, and Mississippi Alcoholic Beverage Control, ended on September 3 and targeted illegal drug distribution in Starkville and neighboring regions.

According to Starkville Police Chief Mark Ballard, the operation illustrates the importance of authorities working together.

Those arrested include the following:

  • Keon Rochon Bell, 34, of Starkville — sale of crack cocaine; bail set at $5,000
  • Travis Dent, 21, of Starkville — sale of marijuana; bail $5,000
  • Perozo Kalaske Duck, 48, of Starkville — sale of crack cocaine; bail $5,000
  • Dangelo Michael Glover, 48, of Byram — sale and possession of marijuana; bail $15,000
  • Rasheme Kenta Hardnett, 48, of Starkville — three counts of sale of crack cocaine; bail $15,000
  • Brendalyn Marie Hill, 36, of Starkville — sale of crack cocaine; bail $5,000
  • Kevin Douglas Hill, 40, of Starkville — possession of methamphetamine; bail $5,000
  • Sharon Lynne Hill, 62, of Starkville — sale of crack cocaine and child abuse; bail $55,000
  • Lee Marvin Horsley, 66, of Starkville — two counts of sale of crack cocaine; bail $10,000
  • Jake Ivy, 35, of Starkville — sale of methamphetamines; bail $5,000
  • Robin J. Jones, 54, of Maben — four counts of sale of crack cocaine; bail $20,000
  • Jason Lucious, 38, of Starkville — sale of crack cocaine; bail $5,000
  • Omarcus Lucious, 44, of Starkville — two counts of sale of cocaine and child abuse; bail $15,000
  • Angela Marie McMullin, 35, of Starkville — sale of methamphetamines; bail $5,448.75
  • Ron Leon Miller, 54, of Starkville — two counts of sale of crack cocaine; bail $10,000
  • Demetic Perry, 67, of Starkville — trafficking of a controlled substance; bail $5,000
  • Amanda Elizabeth Reese, 44, of Starkville — possession of methamphetamines; bail $5,000
  • Quintero Devoun Ridley, 37, of Starkville — two counts of sale of cocaine and child abuse; bail $15,000
  • Joe Arthur Robinson, 40, of Starkville — sale of crack cocaine; bail $5,000
  • Jason Roberson, 48, of Starkville — sale of cocaine; bail $5,000
  • Anthony Robertson — three counts of sale of crack cocaine and one count of sale of MDMA; bail $20,000
  • Tyrone W. Sherman, 49, of Starkville — sale of crack cocaine; bail $5,000
  • Jeremy Wayne Smith, 44, of Starkville — possession of methamphetamines; bail $5,000
  • Jaquana Octavious Thomas, 31, of Starkville — three counts of sale of crack cocaine; bail $15,000
  • Shenikas Renee Townsel, 31, of Starkville — possession of MDMA; bail $5,000
  • Demond Luvelle Weaver, 47, of Starkville — three counts of sale of cocaine; bail $15,000
  • Roberta Kemp Williams, 59, of Starkville — three counts of sale of crack cocaine; bail $15,000
  • Tommy Legale Williams, 47, of Starkville — sale of marijuana; bail $5,000
  • Ladarius Quavo Jordan, 44, of Starkville — two counts of sale of cocaine and possession with intent to distribute; bail $15,000

According to Phelps, the investigation is still ongoing, and additional arrests could potentially occur.

“This joint effort highlights what can be accomplished when agencies work together to protect the public,” he said. “We will continue to pursue those who seek to profit from drugs at the expense of our citizens.”
