More than 500 pounds of methamphetamine worth more than $1 million were seized Sunday morning during a multi-agency interdiction operation in San Antonio.

On September 14, 2025, officers from the San Antonio Police HIDTA, DEA, Texas DPS, and Union Pacific Special Agents were inspecting a freight train when a drug detection canine alerted them to a rail car in transportation. A search of the car revealed a large stash of meth.

Officials say the matter is still being investigated, with detectives and agents seeking to discover the drugs’ origin and destination.

Law enforcement officials commended the operation as an example of effective teamwork among local, state, and federal partners in protecting commercial transportation networks and keeping dangerous drugs off the streets.
