A man who reportedly stole $10,000 in cash from a Calcasieu Parish gas station was discovered and detained at a local casino, according to authorities.

Richard D. Gray, 38, of Houston, Texas, is charged with simple burglary and theft of between $5,000 and $25,000.

On September 12, deputies from the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office were summoned to a business on Sam Houston Jones Parkway in Moss Bluff in response to a reported vehicle burglary. The victim claimed he stopped at a petrol station and another shop after withdrawing $10,000 from his bank.

When he got out, the envelope holding the money was missing from his vehicle.
