Police: Man Wanted For Attempted Murder In New York Detained In Torrington

On Tuesday, city police and federal marshals from the United States Fugitive Task Force worked together to locate and apprehend a city man wanted for attempted murder in Queens, New York.

According to Torrington Police Sgt. Kyle Johnson, Rene Tobo, 22, was arrested without incident in the 500 block of New Litchfield Street and initially held on a $1 million bond.

Tobo appeared in Superior Court later that morning and waived extradition. His bond was reduced to $500,000, but he remains in detention while awaiting extradition.

There were no other specifics concerning the claims leveled against him Tuesday.
