A man suspected of murder in New Orleans was apprehended in Tallahassee on Wednesday.

James Mack, 46, was wanted in connection with the July shooting.

According to New Orleans police, on July 24, officers went to a shooting complaint and discovered a man with several gunshot wounds.

The victim was rushed to the hospital for treatment, but his injuries proved fatal.

On Wednesday, the United States Marshals Service arrested Mack in Tallahassee.

According to a spokeswoman for the US Marshals Fugitive Task Force, Marshals received information earlier this week that Mack was staying with a buddy in Tallahassee.

They began surveillance of a home on Patrick Avenue. When Mack learned that Marshals were looking for him, he called officials in New Orleans and stated that he was willing to surrender, according to WCTV.

Mack was arrested without incident.

He is currently in the Leon County Jail, awaiting extradition to New Orleans.
