A suspect is in custody following a deadly shooting at a north suburban home on Thursday, according to police.
At 5:40 p.m., Niles police officers were notified of a shooting in the 8400 block of Greenwood.
Officers arrived in the area and discovered a victim who had been shot, according to police. The male victim, whose age was not immediately determined, was declared dead.
A suspect is in custody. According to police, the gunshot looks to be an isolated occurrence and poses no threat to the public.
The Niles Police Department’s Investigations Division and the North Regional Major Crimes Task Force are conducting an investigation.
Police did not immediately release more details regarding the shooting.
