Lincoln, IL — Expect a quiet close to the weekend across central Illinois, with mild temperatures before a shift to a wetter pattern early next week.

Saturday night will remain mostly cloudy with a few sprinkles possible, and lows settling between 42°F and 48°F. Sunday looks largely dry, featuring intervals of clouds and highs in the 63°F to 66°F range.

Rain chances ramp up late Monday, with coverage peaking from Monday night into Tuesday night. The best bet for accumulating rain is southeast of I-55, where forecasters place probabilities around 50–60% and totals could approach or exceed a half inch.

By midweek, temperatures slip into the mid-50s, with lingering clouds and showers likely into Wednesday. Overall, the week ushers in a cooler, wetter stretch of fall weather for much of the region.
