Eagle Mountain, Utah — A head-on collision on State Route 73 near Eagle Mountain Boulevard sent one person to the hospital and led to an arrest Friday night, the Utah County Sheriff’s Office reported.
Deputies say the crash occurred around 7 p.m. when a driver towing a trailer pulled onto SR-73 directly in front of an eastbound truck. The vehicles struck head-on, and the eastbound driver suffered injuries described as potentially serious. He was transported to a nearby hospital for medical care.
The trailer-towing driver was taken into custody at the scene and is being booked into the Utah County Jail on suspicion of DUI. The roadway experienced temporary closures while first responders treated the injured, managed traffic, and removed debris.
Photos shared by the sheriff’s office show severe front-end damage to both vehicles and debris scattered across the highway. Once crews cleared the scene, traffic was reopened.
Authorities emphasized their ongoing safety message: never drive under the influence and use extra caution on high-speed rural routes.
