Medford, OR — A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued by the National Weather Service in Medford for the Southern Oregon Cascades and Siskiyou Mountains, in effect from 11 a.m. Saturday through 5 p.m. Sunday, October 26, 2025.

Forecasters expect accumulating snow above 4,500 feet, with totals of 6 to 16 inches common and as much as 20 inches possible above 6,000 feet. Ridgetops and exposed terrain could see wind gusts up to 60 mph, creating hazardous conditions.

Impacted areas include Crater Lake National Park, Crescent Lake, and Diamond Lake. Major travel routes affected are Willamette Pass (Highway 58) and Diamond Lake Junction along Highways 230 and 138.

Travel across higher elevations may become very difficult to impossible at times. Brief whiteout conditions are possible during heavier snow bursts, and strong winds could lead to blowing snow and isolated tree damage.

Drivers should check current conditions before heading out and be prepared with chains or traction tires. For real-time road information, visit tripcheck.com or call 511.

Snow is expected to diminish late Sunday, but colder temperatures will linger into early next week.
