Greenville, SC — The National Weather Service in Greenville-Spartanburg says a sprawling high-pressure system parked just north of the Carolinas will steer today’s weather, keeping the region dry, cool, and partly cloudy.

Following a frosty start, a light northeasterly breeze and thickening clouds will hold afternoon temperatures several degrees below typical values, with most locations topping out in the upper 50s to lower 60s.

This cooler-than-usual pattern is expected to stick around into early next week, with below-average temperatures likely through at least Tuesday. Rain chances should gradually rise Sunday evening as a new system approaches from the west.

No hazardous weather is anticipated today, but travelers and anyone with outdoor plans should be prepared for overcast skies and a brisk feel through the afternoon.
