According to the Cranston Police Department, a suspect was taken into custody following a stabbing in Providence on Thursday.
It followed an alleged assault in Cranston.
Dileana Velez, 20, was charged with both criminal assault and domestic simple assault.
Police said the man went to the hospital and subsequently informed officers that his girlfriend bit him at a home in Cranston before stabbing him in Providence.
Providence police arrested a man on Potters Avenue.
The incident was being investigated.
