Lauren Craven, a La Mesa police officer who was killed in the line of duty last week, has been identified as one of the victims of a Hollywood producer sentenced to 146 years to life in prison.

David Brian Pearce, 43, was found guilty of first-degree murder in the deaths of a model and a companion after a drug overdose in Los Angeles. According to the Los Angeles Times and the New York Post, he has also been charged with sexually assaulting seven women.

According to news reports, prosecutors acknowledged that Craven, a Loyola Marymount University graduate in Los Angeles, was one of the sexual assault victims. According to the Los Angeles Times, the crime occurred in February 2020, while she was a student.

Craven was slain on October 20th, along with the driver of the automobile she stopped to assist, 19-year-old De Vonte Morris.

Prosecutors said that 38-year-old Antonio Alcantar was under the influence when he hit Craven on Interstate 8. Alcantar is only facing charges in relation to Craven’s death because the investigation into Morris’ killing is still ongoing.
