A woman from Lake City died early Sunday morning as a result of a two-car crash on Interstate 10, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Troopers said the 29-year-old woman’s sedan collided with the back of an SUV as both vehicles were traveling west around mile marker 304.
Following the collision, the sedan veered off the road and ended up in the eastbound lane.
The SUV stopped in the westbound lanes.
The driver of the vehicle was pronounced deceased on the scene.
The SUV’s driver, a 36-year-old Jacksonville man, sustained critical injuries.
Authorities are still looking into the cause of the crash.
