In Columbus, a package theft incident was quickly addressed with an arrest, as claimed by the victim and supported by video evidence. According to a social media post from the Columbus Division of Police, a theft occurred outside a property on Tuesday, August 12, at about 5:30 p.m. Surveillance cameras placed at the victim’s home captured footage of a Black female suspect withdrawing the delivered package from the front door. This footage proved critical in the investigation.
The Columbus Police investigators worked rapidly to identify the perpetrator, relying on the clarity of the surveillance film. The photographs allowed them to not only witness but also absolutely confirm the identity of the person guilty of the incident. Takisha Hicks was captured on camera. After just under three months, police arrested Ms. Hicks on Tuesday and charged her with felony package theft.
The arrest was announced Monday on the Columbus Division of Police’s Facebook page, with the message that justice will be served quickly, and the footage acquired served as indisputable evidence.
