2 Men Detained For Human Trafficking After Stabbing Incident In Pennsylvania

A stabbing along the Pennsylvania Turnpike in Franklin County led to the arrest of two men accused of human trafficking, according to state police.

At 5:39 p.m., troopers reported seeing a car drive into the median on I-76 in Lurgan Township. Wednesday, Nov. 19. There were three individuals in the vehicle: two men and a woman.

According to police, one of the men sustained a deep laceration in his neck and shoulder. He received medical attention at the scene before being taken to Penn State Health Holy Spirit Medical Center. His present state is unclear. When cops arrived, the female passenger escaped but was later found a short distance away.

Authorities discovered that the woman was unfamiliar with the two males after conducting an inquiry. She told cops she thought she was being brought to New York, but detectives discovered she was being carried to Philadelphia. According to authorities, the males allegedly planned to pressure her into sexual activities upon her arrival and threatened her if she protested.

Jose Antonio Hernandez Gutierrez, 30, and Edgar Jesus Espinoza Gamboa, 28, were charged with people trafficking, simple assault, and making terroristic threats. Both were transported to Franklin County Prison.

The Pennsylvania State Police Major Case Team and the Bureau of Criminal Investigations are still investigating the event.
